STOP WEIGHING IN ONCE PER WEEK Personally I think weekly weigh-ins are a cruddy way of tracking your progress. Reason being your weight on the scale each day gets massively influenced by things like hormones stomach contents water retention etc… – Which is why you’re MUCH better off weighing yourself daily finding weekly/monthly averages and then looking at how your weight trends over time Just check out the example above. If this person weighs in weekly on Sunday (highlighted in red ) they’ll end up seeing the same number two weeks in a row In response they’ll likely get discouraged and try to drop calories or do a buttload of extra cardio thinking they’re not working hard enough… But if they instead weigh-in daily (disregarding what their weight is day to day) and find a weekly average they’ll see they’re 1.5 lbs down over the course of the week! – Here’s Your Takeaway : Your weight is going to spikes up and down day-to-day and that’s just the way it’s going to be. But take it daily & find your average weight over the course of a week or month it’ll help balance out fluctuations and you’ll see a more realistic representation of how you’re actually progressing. In my opinion there are only TWO ways to go about using a body scale: 1 take daily weigh-ins and find your weekly/monthly average or 2 skip the scale entirely… – (I prefer the first method. Reason being it gives YOU power over the scale & helps you recognize it as just one of many ways to track progress) Whichever you choose make sure you’re ALSO looking at other progress markers such as waist/body measurements how clothes are fitting and how you actually feel!
